Commemorations for the next 5 years in the Poppy Country

For the next 5 years, the Poppy Country will be celebrating  the 100th Anniversary of World War I

" a five-year project of remembrance, reflection and understanding"

2014 to 2018 is a Historical time within the Timeline

Within the 67 communities of the Poppy Country, expositions, conferences, seminars, commemorative marches and concerts will be unfolding 5 years of history in each town and village in our region: the Poppy Country.

These series of events will be finalized by the publication of a comprehensive and mapped World War One book relating to the areas of Albert and Thiepval written by and with their residents.

2016 is time for Remembrance

Year 2016 is time of emotion, remembrance, a yearning feeling of affiliation which drives a cnumber of Anglo-Saxons, Germans and French to retrace the tracks of ancestors, or village residents. Ceremonies and artistic themes are at the heart of 2016. That year will be dedicated to the theme of uniting.

 2017
